Horticulture Australia Limited invests R&D levy funds from several industries to provide a consistent approach to improving water-use efficiency in Horticultural Industries.

Crop IrrigationThe goal of the Horticulture Water Initiative is:

‘Ensuring access to water for responsible and profitable use’

The Initiative has five broad objectives that have been adopted to achieve this goal :

  1. Empower industry

  2. Partnerships

  3. Innovation and adoption

  4. Informing policy

  5. Positioning

Part of this program communicates the development and use of recycled water in horticulture.

Recycled Water has been treated to a level 'fit for purpose' from a health and environmental perspective.

The National Program for Sustainable Irrigation
specialises in irrigation innovation, research and knowledge management.

This program generates knowledge to assist irrigators improve sustainability.
